What makes Webhealth different from any other directory or information website?
As you read through this brochure you will discover the many ways we are unique.

We are more than a passive internet directory, we have real local people on the ground actively connecting people with the services and information they need.

We educate and up skill the community toempower their ability to support their own wellbeing.

Background

Linkage Trust has been in the business of facilitating access for people to the health and social service that is just right for them since 1998. Before the advent of webhealth.co.nz finding a health and social service often involved searching through printed directories which in many cases were out of date even before they came off the printing press!

As we all know the internet has changed that problem forever, but it is still a challenge to make sure all the information on Webhealth is up to date accurate and relevant to the communities we serve.

How do we do that?

Regional Websites
Our strategy is to build websites that have a limited geographical focus so that we can represent every relevant service in a particular community. One size does not fit all, and services in one community might not occur in another.

Linkage Webhealth Representatives
Our representatives continually uncover new services, support groups and other resources and get them listed on webhealth.co.nz. They also identify service and resource gaps and work with providers to help meet those needs. Education is another important aspect of their work. They often make presentations to community and provider groups and become local walking and talking directories themselves!

It is the unique model of combining technology with our people that makes webhealth.co.nz so effective.

Accreditation
It's relatively easy to have a website full of information, but how do you know you can trust it? We take the verification of all information and service providers listed on webhealth.co.nz very seriously. We ensure all information on Webhealth and any information we link to comes from reliable and approved sources. Every service provider listed on Webhealth.co.nz has theircredentials checked to ensure they have the qualifications they say they do and that they are current.

Webhealth Advisory Teams
In each region where a Webhealth website exists we create Advisory Teams made up of representatives from the local community to help us make sure we are meeting their needs.

Organised and led by Linkage Webhealth Representatives these teams meet quarterly and provide valuable feedback and input into the direction and future development of webhealth.co.nz. We believe in community ownership. This is their website designed to meet their needs.

The Features of Webhealth.co.nz

There is so much you can do and find out on Webhealth! Following are some of the main features:

Webhealth Features

Find a Health and Social Service
We have a very intuitive and easy to use search engine where you can add in all sorts of criteria to make sure you find the service that is just right for you.

For example you might want to find a service provider that speaks a certain language, that is ACC registered, charges a fee you can afford or any number of other issues that are important to you.

Finding descriptions and contact details of services in your local community is made effortless by the category search functionality.

There are 20 topical categories divided into Health Services and Social Services prominently displayed on the Webhealth homepage. By clicking on the arrow next to a category a list of sub-categories is displayed, which further breaks down the options for selection. A free type field is also available to use when searching for specific service providers or other specific key words.

Connect with your local community through the Community Noticeboard
Keeping up to date with community events is hassle free with the Community Noticeboard. There are many different categories you can list a notice in such as Conference/meetings, Jobs, Support Groups, Youth and Training/workshops and more. A search functionality is also provided, finding notices of interest is only a few clicks away!

Health and Wellbeing Resources
Educate yourself with resources on a wide range of health and wellbeing topics. Our information pages are in continual development and endeavour to reflect current issues and trends within the local community and at a national level. Wherever possible these resources are created with input from accredited external providers, ensuring information accuracy and quality.

Interactive Questionnaires and Self Assistance Scenarios
Our Interactive Questionnaires enable you to gauge where you sit on the mental health continuum. A series of questions are asked and you can respond by choosing words, pictures or by moving an indicator as instructed.

On completion of the questionnaire you can view, email or print a summary and conclusion that will suggest some of the many options available to you. These options include service providers, health and wellbeing resources, website links and publications. The Self Assistance Scenarios allow you to navigate through presentations with specific information and tips related to the topic chosen.

Give us your feedback and take part in the survey
Webhealth.co.nz encourages feedback from the Webhealth Community. A feedback tab is provided on the left hand side of every screen on www.webhealth.co.nz. Through this avenue people complete a feedback form which asks them to rate the website, inform Linkage Trust of what they have visited on the site, and invites people to make any further comments and suggestions. Webhealth users can also take part in a survey assisting Linkage Trust to determine the demographics of the Webhealth community. The survey results provide a snapshot of community trends and issues and whether the information held on Webhealth was useful in alleviating them.

Contact your local Linkage Webhealth Representative
As we said earlier, one of the key elements of webhealth.co.nz is the unique combination of technology and our people. That means if you need to speak to a real human about finding the right service for you, all you need do is call 0800 WEBHEALTH to speak to our support team or your local Linkage Webhealth Representative.

Print your own hard copy directory
Taking advantage of new technology and responding to community needs, you can now print out your own unique directory on Webhealth.

Webhealth has a print functionality that allows you to create your own individual specialized directory from all the services listed on the website and print it out in a handy book format.
This means you only need to print out the number of directories you actually need with the services that are relevant to you at the time. When you need more copies, the database you are using is always up to date.

Service Providers can reigster for free and update their details at their own leisure
Using an easy to follow, step-by-step process all local Health and Social Service providers can register their details on Webhealth. Service providers choose their own login details and are responsible for maintaining their own information on Webhealth at all times. Service providers also receive an automated email every 6 months reminding them to check and update their details displayed on www.webhealth.co.nz.

Before a new registration or updated details are approved and made live for public viewing, Linkage Trust staff check and approve the information to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.

Registration details are checked for the following:

  • Whether a service meets the Webhealth criteria (this is located in the Terms and Conditions at the bottom of each page in the Webhealth website)
  • Spelling
  • Use of Language
  • Format
  • Fields completed appropriately
  • Verification of qualifications and accreditation

Get a website for your service
Linkage Trust offers those service providers registered on Webhealth the opportunity to have their very own web presence in the form of low cost website development and hosting.
This offer is part of Webhealth's commitment to creating better avenues of access to health and social services and provides assistance to those services that do not already have a web presence in our community.

Reporting
Linkage Trust provides comprehensive and detailed regular reporting to webhealth.co.nz sponsors. This provides valuable information on what subjects are being most searched for in particular communities, detailed reports on the activities of Linkage Webhealth Representatives and a wealth of other information that provides a valuable snapshot of community concerns and needs.
